The first day of the Summer Fest set the tone for the much-anticipated event, which started on June 7, featuring numerous activities and the unveiling of new games, including:
Night Spring: Alan Wake 2 Expansion
For the past few months, there have been rumors about a new addition to Alan Wake 2 called ‘Night Springs.’ Remedy Entertainment and Epic Games announced the physical edition at a recent event—Night Springs, featuring three episodes released on June 8 for consoles and PCs.
One exciting aspect of Night Springs for Alan Wake 2 is the physical edition, which will come out later this year. If you’re a collector, ensure to grab your copy.
Metaphor: ReFantazio
Atlus released the trailer for Metaphor: ReFantazio, which premiered on the first day of Summer Game Fest.
Developed by Studio Zero, the creators of the popular Persona series, the game is expected to feature over 40 archetypes. It will be released on October 11 for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
Valorant: Riot’s Tactical Shooter
Valorant has always been exclusive to PC, and it’s impressive that Riot Games announced during the Summer Game Fest that it will be available on consoles. Not only that, but it will also come with a beta edition limited to selected regions starting from June 14.
Wanderstop
From the creator of ‘Stanley Parable,’ Wanderstop is a new showstopper from Ivy Road Games. This new game is the latest in the Ivy Road game collections, which will be officially released later in the year.
Based on the 2024 Summer Game Fest announcement, by the time Wanderstop is out, it will be available on both PC and PlayStation 5.
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions
In partnership with Unbroken Studios, Warner Bros. Games introduced a new game from the magical Harry Potter: Quidditch series and showcased a full trailer at the game fest.
During the introduction, they confirmed that the game will be released on September 3 for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Lego Horizon
Lego Horizon, co-developed by Guerrilla and Studio Gobo in collaboration with the Lego Group, was announced at this year’s Summer Game Fest. The new action-adventure game will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and PC.
Batman: Arkham Shadow
The Arkham Shadow game, a direct sequel to Arkham Origins in the Arkham-verse series, was previewed at the fest. This latest VR adventure will feature the Rat King as the main villain.
Sonic Generation: Unlimited Edition
Sega excites fans and gamers as it unveils Sonic Generation: Ultimate Edition, an update of the classic sonic experience. With this new edition, Sega promises to deliver better visuals, new levels, and exciting features, taking the gaming experience to the next level.
Likewise, Sega is bringing various characters from Sonic’s universe, each with a unique ability, to the updated Sonic Generation version.
Black Myth: Wukong
Game Science Interactive Tech showcased their Chinese mythology-inspired game “Wukong” at the Summer Game Fest.
During the fest, Game Science announced the release date for Black Myth: Wukong, confirming August 20 this year. The game will only be available on PC and PlayStation 5 upon its August release, while the Xbox version will be released at a later date.
Mighty Morphin: Power Rangers
Saban Entertainment announced their upcoming game, Mighty Morphin, at the fest. The trailer revealed a story about a robotic Rita traveling back in time. The game features multiple game environments and classic villains like Bone, the Eye, and Goldar.
Palworld
Palworld made a notable appearance at the event, showcasing its unique blend of survival, sandbox, and creative taming gameplay. The game’s versatility was fully displayed during the announcement, making it one of the standout showcases that left a lasting impression.
Dragon Ball: Sparking New
Developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, Dragon Ball: Sparking New excited fans with its trailer. The trailer combines stunning visuals and intense combat, showcasing the fantastic gameplay and aiming for action and excitement.
One of the trailer’s highlights is the ability for players to assemble their dream teams and engage in battles with opposing teams. Dragon Ball: Sparking New is confirmed for release on December 15, 2024.
Neva
Nomada Studio, the creators of “Gris,” showcased the trailer for Neva at the Summer Game Fest. The trailer stars a girl and her wolf. They confirmed that Neva will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC this year, although the exact release date has yet to be determined.
Civilization 7
The Civilization 7 trailer was also shown during the fest’s first day and is confirmed to be released by 2025 on PlayStations, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Following the eventful opening ceremony of the Summer Game Fest, the second day continued with mind-blowing introductions to upcoming games.

Future of Play Direct
At the Summer Game Fest 2024, the future of play highlighted the growth and direction the industry is aiming at. Many family-oriented games were presented, including Quantum Drift, Chromocraft, Elysian Fields, Virtual Odyssey, and Airborne Empire.
Wholesome Direct
Among all the developers, studios, and publishers at the 2024 fest, Wholesome Direct stood out with the most packed lineup, featuring over 70 games.
Some of the notable titles presented by Wholesome Direct include Discounty, Moonstone Island, Lost and Found Co., Kitsune Tails, After Love EP, Broken Lens, and Magical Bakery.
OuterSloth
Victoria Tran, the communication director, and Forest Willard, the CEO of InnerSloth, announced OuterSloth at the fest. These two creators from InnerSloth confirmed Outersloth as a side project that aims to give indies the chance they deserve in the gaming industry.
The games released under OuterSloth include Mars First Logistics, Battle Suit Aces, Massfied Archives, One BTN Bosses, and Rogue Eclipse. They also mentioned that an additional game is still under development.
Latin American Games Showcase
Like Wholesome Direct, the Latin American games showcase featured about 70 games, presented over nearly two hours during the fest.
Some games are displayed at the Latin American showcase: Goblin Cleanup, Mark of the Deep, The Coldest Winter, Keylocker, and Abyss X Zero. For a complete list, we recommend checking out the entire showcase.
Women-Led Games
The women-led games initiative is dedicated to women in the gaming industry and aims to highlight their contributions.
Lianna Ruppert, a significant inspiration to women in the gaming industry, hosted the women-led games showcase at the 2024 Fest. They presented over 20 games, including Urban Jungle, Woodo, Dungeon Crawler, Just Crow Thing, and Duck Detective.
Future Games Show
Roger Clark and Britt Baron hosted the Future Games showcase, ending Day 2 of the Summer Game Fest. During the two-hour event, they unveiled over 60 exciting games and showcased demos of the most anticipated titles.

Schim, First Dwarf, Dustborn, Parcel Corps, Dystopika, Judero, 10 Dead Doves, Run from Mummies, and Screenbound.
Day 3
Despite the numerous games displayed during the first and second days of the event, on the third day, she remained eventful and exciting like the previous days.

Xbox Games Showcase
During the Xbox games showcase, the latest addition to the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, was announced and will be released on October 25 this year.
In addition to Call of Duty, two new Microsoft Xbox games were unveiled. There are Doom: The Dark Ages and the Return of Gears of War: E-day.
Other Xbox games revealed during the one-hour showcase include Indiana Jones, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Fable, AtomFall, MixTape, and more.
PC Gamers Showcase
In celebration of their 10th anniversary, PC Gamer previewed over 70 trailers hosted by Sean Plott, Frankie Ward, and Amica Burton. Some displayed games include Demon’s Hook, Among the Wild, Starbirds, Ale Abbey, Wander Stars, and Southfield.

Day 4: Ubisoft Forward
As the grand finale of the 2024 Summer Game Fest, Ubisoft dropped a bombshell with its Ubisoft Forward announcement. The crowd was thrilled with live updates and demos of the company’s hottest upcoming games.
Get ready for Star Wars Outlaws, an extended gameplay walkthrough of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The action-packed X Defiant will also be hitting your screens soon.
