Two-time International Champions, Team Spirit crashed out of the International 2024 in the first Knockout stage. The Serbian team won’t have the chance to defend the trophy they won last year as they fell short at the hands of Xtreme Gaming. 

Both teams went head to head against each other in the second round of the lower bracket. The first round of the battle started pretty evenly with both teams delivering fairly equal damage at this first stage. 

At the end of the first round of the tie, Team Spirit came out victorious, edging out Xtreme Gaming and starting off the best-of-three with a win.

However, the second round of the tie saw us witness a highly motivated Xtreme Gaming team. In about 25 minutes, Xtreme Gaming leveled the tie by securing Luna, Visage, and Sniper in core positions. This secured XG’s first win of the night, allowing them to battle it out for the final slot of the tie.

In the third round, Team Spirit could still not recover from XG’s firepower, as they found themselves outpaced and outplayed; allowing Xtreme Gaming to complete the comeback and secure a place in the Top 8 rankings for the ongoing International 2024.

Team Spirit’s elimination puts their three-peat hopes on hold, allowing us to witness a new champion this year.
