Here’s the Esports World Cup 2024 update. As Riyadh heats up, the competition is becoming fiercer. Over the past few days, five teams have crashed out of the EWC, facing heartbreaking eliminations. Here’s a look at the key moments and results from Call of Duty: Warzone, League of Legends, Dota 2, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Call of Duty: WARZONE

The Call of Duty: Warzone event has been intense, with teams battling fiercely to secure a spot in the finals. The 14 finalists have been revealed after a series of group stage matches. Notably, NaVi managed to secure their spot by finishing third with 150.50 points. Team Vitality also made it to the finals, ending their group stage campaign in 13th place with 88.6 points. Other finalists include Team Falcons, FNATIC, Twisted Minds, and Guild Esports.

League of Legends

The League of Legends tournament saw some surprising outcomes. Gen.G, one of the tournament favorites, faced a shocking defeat, crashing out after losing 2-0 to the in-form Top Esports. This was a major upset as Gen.G was expected to go far in the competition. They entered the Esports World Cup on the back of a 24-game winning streak

In another quarter-final match, G2 Esports faced FlyQuest. Despite an initial loss, G2 made a stunning comeback, winning the next two maps and securing their place in the semi-finals.

DOTA 2

In the Dota 2 tournament, the play-in stage was full of surprises and dominant performances. Blacklist International and Entity Esports both secured convincing 2-0 victories. However, not all teams had such success. Beastcoast defeated the struggling G2.i2 squad, leading to G2.i2’s elimination.

Aurora also faced disappointment, losing to PSG Quest and exiting the tournament. Blacklist International continued their strong performance, defeating LGD Gaming and Virtus.Pro, while Entity Esports overcame Beastcoast and LGD Gaming.

MOBILE LEGENDS: BANG BANG

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang category saw Team Spirit and Twisted Minds bow out after failing to progress from the group stage. They couldn’t secure enough wins, leading to their early exit from the tournament. On the other hand, Liquid Echo topped Group C with a flawless 3-0 finish, and HomeBois also secured a spot in the next stage of the Mid-Season Cup.

The Esports World Cup 2024  features a $60 million prize pool and is already proving to be an event full of high-stakes action and unexpected turns. While some teams have faced the tough reality of elimination, others have risen to the occasion and advanced to the next stages.
